Naturally, the older we get the busier we get and the less time we have for ourselves. 2023 is the year to restart prioritizing ourselves again and finding balance in our everyday lives. In honor of Valentines day what better time than now to start practicing self care and self love. The only person we truly will always have in our lives are ourselves so let’s start acting like the loves of our own lives. Minimizing people pleasing and making ourselves the priority of our own life is the key to achieving a happy life. Once we start acting like the loves of our own lives, everything will start to fall into place. Trust the process and know that everything comes in divine timing. Here are some ways on how to treat yourself right.

Buy yourself flowers. Pop into your nearest Trader Joes or local flower shop and treat yourself right. Don’t wait on someone else to do it for you.

Take yourself on a date. Solo dates can be daunting, but they also breed self confidence, ultimate power over yourself, and self awareness. If you can’t be alone with yourself then do you truly know yourself?

Educate yourself. Read more books, listen to more podcasts, and watch more TedTalks. YouTube exists, so use it to fuel your knowledge.

Eat nourishing foods. Treat your body like a temple and start recognizing what you put in it. Eat foods that make you feel good. I personally follow the 80/20 rule, which prioritizes 80% nutritious foods and 20% foods for the soul. It’s all about finding balance.

Clear your space. Clean space = clean mind. Objects have the power to hold energy, so declutter things that no longer serve you.

Move your body. Get up and dance, it’s good for the soul.

Make a playlist. Find your ultimate music taste and vibe out.

Have a self care day. Be your biggest fan and prioritize yourself. Journal, meditate, and reflect.

Go to the library or watch a movie. Escape your current reality and enter a realm of imagination or cinematic masterpieces.

Write a letter to your future self. To show your future self everything you've accomplished and more.
